This summer has been going by too quickly. It's been a warm and smoky one. The fires in British Columbia have made western Washington very hazy. I have been enjoying it though, in spite of the smoke! I have been taking a World Civilizations history class at my community college which I've really enjoyed.  I've been riding my lovely horse. He is such a sweet boy.  I took him for a walk out by the woods last week and whilst walking I found some stunning owl feathers. Last week in my class  I had to give a presentation on Hinduism and had henna done on my hand along with buying some delicious Indian sweets to get the class in the spirit.  I've been going for a lot of walks at some of my favorite beaches and waterfronts and of course taking my little Goblin!  There was also a fun trip to an arts and crafts fair. My mother has been having a lot of fun making her wonderful necklaces. Finishing the quarter marks the end of August and I welcome September and a few weeks off. I plan on spending some time alone.

I really enjoy doing things by myself, or with my mom since we are such similar spirits because it gives me an opportunity to reflect and to feed my inner musings and find inspiration. Being alone allows me to be in tune with taking in the environment and experience and letting it make it's imprint.  Going somewhere and doing something fun brings about this joy in me and renewal of energy, it stirs the pot. I enjoy going with the flow wherever it takes me. It's so exciting to find something new or stumble across something you have to bring into your life. I believe they are all little messages of what we really long for, vivid new beginnings or celebrations and memories.  To experience the sensual and small pleasures of a day out and finding a delicious new lipstick in hopes of reflecting how you feel like a dark gothic romantic or coming across a journal with hopes you'll fill it with happy days and meaningful poetry, or a wonderful sweet treat with a cup of tea and a small bag sitting next to you at the table full of fine scents, comforting socks, and a rich new handmade soap. To buy bread and grapes and a new ball of yarn and knitting needles or a new crystal that glows a heavenly color. I love to savor things and sometimes when you are alone, you are free to do so so much more deeply.

Joys of May

May 22 was my 28th birthday. According to numerology.com when one adds together the numbers 2+8 they get 10 which reduces to 1, the "primal source". The number 1 signifies spiritual  and creative growth. There is an energy of not letting anything or anyone get in the way or limit ones creativity. It's also the Magician in the tarot.  In The complete guild to Tarot by Eden Gray the divinatory meaning is "Will, mastery, organizational skills, creative talents. The ability to take the power from above and direct it through desire into manifestation." Sounds like a pretty powerful year ahead and that the emphasis and focus will be on exactly what I want to do, create.
I spent my birthday with my dearest friend,  my mom. We went to Queen Anne. The day was beautiful but a little warm for my taste. I love cold weather so anything about 70 degrees seems to be uncomfortable for me, still it was a wonderful and memorable day spent in great company.

This week we were also lucky enough to be apart of the beautiful birth of three fawns. In the middle of the night we both heard crying. I thought it was a kitten so I went outside to look and I spotted a deer. I had never heard a sound like that come from a deer.  I was worried she might attack me so I looked out the window at her and saw three little piles.  The next morning they were all sleeping in our yard. We planned to have yard work done but cancelled because we were worried about the brand new little fawns.  We didn't want to get too close or to frighten any of them but I did manage to snap one picture of one.

The Wild Wild Berry

I heard this song "The Wild Wild Berry" in the new King Arthur trailer.  The one in the trailer is by a folk singer named Sam Lee.  It evokes an eerie and mysterious feeling. I've lately been drawn to the Nigthshade and stories about it.

New Begginings

Where has the time gone? The past few months have been full of work, the pay the bills and save kind of work, with the exception of a few fun days and small presents.  I took some work at a stable, at a restaurant and caregiving.  We've been living in our small rental and have it all se up for crafting.  We haven't had much time for our creative endeavors and that's been rather disappointing. The magical life and creating have got to become more of commitment and priority. Even though physically I haven't been creating much, I am always being drawn into the creative and dreamy world of inspiration and beauty.
We live in a little seaside village. Every morning we set out food for the crows and watch them manage to outwit the seagulls. Our little dog, Goblin has been enjoying the spring investigating his new surroundings. I have my horse at a barn instead of at home, I miss having him at home but he is really enjoying the companionship of two very sweet mules.
This Monday is my 28th birthday. I plan to make this a year of manifesting and delving into my imagination more than ever. We will probably live in Washington for one more year, until my first two years of school are finished. It is a beautiful place with a lot to enjoy around us.  I promise this year to take classes, to share more of our creative process and outcomes with the world, and to nurture and develop myself further.
